Saltshaker

Hello to all;

I keep reading today about the lack of Bible knowledge many people have today.We are becoming Biblically weak in knowledge of God's Word. We need to know God's Word because that is how He reveals Himself to us. I was at a meeting one time and the speaker talked about when he was a new pastor at a church in Tennesee and the men wanted to go out fishing at night and invited him to go along. As they got in the boat they could see snakes nearby along the shallow part of the water. They told the pastor, that they would go into deeper water because the snakes won't go there. He compared that to knowing God's Word and dealing with the temptations the Devil presents us with. If we are shallow in our knowledge of God's Word we are vulnerable to the attacks of the Devil. So, by knowing God's Word and, hiding it in our heart then Satan will not be able to win the battles over us. Just what was on my mind today. I know that I need to go deeper also. Let me know what you are thinking.

  1. Well coming to the knowledge that the bible is the story of the restoration of the two house of Israel has brought an stunning about of vitality to my study. It all makes sense now.

    For example... He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths 4570 of righteousness for his name's 8034 sake. The Strongs word for "path" is 1) entrenchment, track
    a) circumvallation, entrenchment
    b) track

    Now why would that be? It is the difference between the Hebrew mind and the Greek mind. The Hebrew was referring to the circular nature of the Sabbath and the feast and the Torah in general. Continual study of the commands of our Father create a "trench" from which it is more difficult to stray left or right.

    As opposed to the winding "path" that probably came to mind.

    Our Father gave us the Torah as INSTRUCTION, but we generally ignore it. You want to get deep? Go back. (LAW is a bad translation. INSTRUCTION is a better one. Ignoring a law is one thing, but ignoring INSTRUCTION from God seems a bit more foolish.)

    Check out what "course of nature" meant in James 3:6
